Alice Caviness set up her jewellery business after the Second World War in 1945 and retired 25 years later due to failing sight, dying in 1983. During her lifetime she enjoyed travelling to Europe. Her jewellery is always beautifully made and elegant and was designed by either Alice or Millie Petronzio, who went on to became head designer at Miriam Haskell in the 80's. The jewellery was made in the company's own factory or imported. It is popular with collectors.
